From raw hide to finished luxury leather — an 8-12 week journey of precision, patience, and expertise.
Every production begins with rigorous hide selection. Our sourcing team visits partner farms across 8 countries, personally grading each batch against our 12-point quality charter. We accept only the top 15% of hides from each supply run — ensuring only the finest raw material enters our tannery.
Fresh hides are first preserved, then soaked in clean water to restore moisture content. Unhairing follows using natural lime solutions — free from sulfides. The "beam house" phase is where the hide is transformed from raw skin into clean, ready-to-tan pelt. All water from this stage is filtered and recycled.
The heart of our process. Pelts are immersed in a series of pits containing progressively stronger tannin solutions derived from oak bark, chestnut wood, and quebracho extracts. This slow, methodical process — taking 30 to 60 days for premium grades — produces leather of unrivalled density, firmness, and patina potential.
Post-tanning, hides are retanned for enhanced consistency, then drum-dyed with water-based OEKO-TEX certified dyes. Our spectrophotometer ensures every batch matches the approved color standard within Delta E ≤1.5. Fat liquoring follows — introducing natural oils that provide the leather's final softness and flexibility profile.
Finishing transforms good leather into extraordinary leather. Depending on specification, hides may receive glazing for high-sheen, waxing for pull-up effect, embossing for texture patterns, or natural milling for pebble grain. Every finish is applied by skilled artisans using traditional methods combined with modern precision equipment.
Before any leather leaves our facility, it undergoes our rigorous 5-stage quality inspection. Digital imaging defect mapping, tensile and tear testing per ISO 3376/4674, color consistency measurement, chemical compliance verification, and final visual inspection by our senior leather graders — all documented in the Certificate of Analysis.
Approved hides are measured, graded by area, rolled onto acid-free cores, wrapped in pH-neutral tissue, and boxed in custom luxury packaging. Full documentation package includes Certificate of Analysis, REACH Declaration, country of origin certificate, and care instructions. Custom branding packaging available.
